The Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act 2022 (the Act) was recently passed into law and comes into effect on 1 July 2022. It updates the original Protected Disclosures Act 2000 (PDA). New Zealand was one of the first countries in the world to introduce legislation that protects people who report concerns of serious wrongdoing in their workplace.
